The week of September 12-16, 2011 was Adult Education and Family Literacy week!
LVGS hosted the following activities to celebrate and to bring awareness about the importance of adult education and family literacy to our community.
On Monday September 12, 2011 LVGS hosted the Annual LVGS Tutor and Student Recognition Event and Pot Luck Supper at St. Lucy’s Church on Gifford St. in Syracuse in partnership with the Literacy Coalition of Onondaga County.
LVGS Executive Director Marsha Tait and LCOC Executive Director Ginny Carmody read a Proclamation from County Executive Joanie Mahoney and Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner declaring Adult Education and Family Literacy week in the County and City.
LVGS congratulates our volunteer tutors and students on all their hard work and thanks all of our supporters and friends who came to UNO Chicago Grill on Wednesday September 14 and Phoebe’s on Thursday September 15 to raise funds to help adults in our community to improve their lives through literacy.
